The USB4 Smart Dock 5500 connects with its own attached USB4 cable and adds up to four 4K displays, Gigabit Ethernet, four USB-A and two USB-C ports, and up to 65 W of charging.
Charges while it works.
The dock runs from its 100 W adapter and sends up to 65 W back to the laptop over the attached USB4 cable (USB Power Delivery 3.1), as long as the laptop's USB-C port accepts charging. Lenovo sells the same dock with a 135 W adapter (40BC0135) for up to 100 W to the laptop.
Two front ports are Always On: one USB-A at 5 V / 2.4 A and the USB-C at 5 V / 1.5 A, so a phone or headset keeps charging whenever the dock is on its adapter.

Lenovo Accessories Fleet Manager
IT can provision, monitor and update the 5500 from Lenovo's cloud console (hosted on AWS); a cloud LED on the back shows its status.
Factory reset
A pin-hole reset on the back clears the dock's network settings and organization ID so it can be provisioned again; the firmware level is kept.
PXE, Wake-on-LAN, MAC pass-through
Network boot, wake and MAC address pass-through through the dock on ThinkPad laptops that support them.
Silent firmware updates
Lenovo Dock Manager can push dock firmware without user action; manual updates come from lenovo.com/support/docks.
Works with USB4, Thunderbolt and USB-C laptops.
Lenovo lists Windows 10 and later, macOS Sequoia and macOS Sonoma. The attached cable plugs into a USB4, Thunderbolt or USB-C port.
A USB-C, USB4 or Thunderbolt port with DisplayPort video. Charging needs a port that accepts power in. The maximum display setup depends on that port.
The dock driver and firmware come from lenovo.com/support/docks; Lenovo Dock Manager can keep firmware current. MAC pass-through, Wake-on-LAN and the mirrored power button may not be available on non-Lenovo laptops.

This one is factory sealed, so it skips the bench entirely — it ships exactly as it left the manufacturer.
New stock arrives sealed and stays that way, so there is no bench record to show.
It carries the same 1-year AnyHDD warranty as everything else on the site.

Questions we get asked.
Will it work with my non-Lenovo laptop or a Mac?
Lenovo lists Windows 10 and later plus macOS Sequoia and macOS Sonoma for the USB4 Smart Dock 5500, and its docks work with laptops whose USB-C port supports video (DisplayPort Alt Mode), USB4 or Thunderbolt. MAC address pass-through, Wake-on-LAN and the mirrored power button may not be available on other brands.
How many monitors can I run, and at what resolution?
Up to four at 4K 60 Hz each. Two displays run at up to 4K 144 Hz; three at one 4K 144 Hz plus two 4K 60 Hz. A single display reaches 8K 60 Hz on HDMI or 4K 240 Hz on DisplayPort. Lenovo notes the maximum also depends on the USB-C or Thunderbolt port on your computer.
How much power does it send to my laptop?
Up to 65 W over the attached cable, from the 100 W adapter in this bundle. The same dock with a 135 W adapter (40BC0135) delivers up to 100 W.
If the laptop doesn't charge, Lenovo's checklist is: use the dock's own adapter and power cord, and make sure the laptop's USB-C port supports power input.
Does it have a headphone jack?
No. Lenovo lists no audio port for this dock; use a USB or Bluetooth headset, or the laptop's own jack.
A monitor stays blank. What should I check?
Make sure the laptop is awake, the dock is on its adapter and connected to the computer and the display, and the dock driver is installed. Then try a lower resolution; if it persists, Lenovo suggests uninstalling and reinstalling the dock driver. Protected video may not play through the dock on computers without HDCP support; connect that display directly to the computer.
How fast does it ship?

What warranty comes with it?
One year from the date of delivery. It may also be eligible for the original manufacturer's warranty, but AnyHDD's own 1-year coverage applies either way.
What if I need to return it?
If it fails in the first 30 days, you choose replacement or refund. There is no restocking fee, and refunds go back to your original payment method. If the item arrived defective, damaged, or isn't what you ordered, AnyHDD pays the return shipping; for any other reason the return label is yours to cover.
