Plug the WD22TB4 into your laptop and it takes over: power, up to four displays, wired network and two downstream Thunderbolt 4 ports, all through one cable.
Charges while it works.
The 180 W Dell adapter powers the dock and sends up to 130 W up the cable to a Dell laptop, or 90 W to anything else. On Dell Latitude, XPS and Precision systems that support it, ExpressCharge works at that 130 W level.
The dock also works as a charging station: with its adapter plugged in, phones and other USB devices charge even when no laptop is connected. The front USB-A port supports PowerShare.

Two DisplayPort 1.4, one HDMI 2.0, a USB-C video port and two Thunderbolt 4 ports. Choose your laptop type, then the number of screens.
Figures are Dell's published maximums from the WD22TB4 display resolution table; most recent laptops support Display Stream Compression, older ones fall back to the HBR2 row. HDMI and the rear USB-C video port are muxed, so only one of them drives a display. Linux shows one external display fewer than listed. Results also depend on each monitor.

Serviceable cable module

Will the WD22TB4 work with my laptop?
Dell lists it as compatible with Thunderbolt computers and USB-C computers with DisplayPort Alt Mode. Dell laptops get up to 130 W and power-button sync on compatible systems; non-Dell laptops get 90 W. Non-Thunderbolt devices on the dock's Thunderbolt ports run at USB 3.0 speeds.
Can I upgrade a WD19-family dock to Thunderbolt 4?
Dell documents it: the WD19, WD19S, WD19TB, WD19TBS, WD19DC and WD19DCS accept the WD22TB4 cable module, after a firmware update before and after the swap. A WD19 that shipped with a 130 W adapter needs a 180 W adapter once upgraded. This listing is the complete WD22TB4.
Will the dock charge my phone with the laptop unplugged?
Yes. Dell calls it the charging station feature: with the AC adapter connected to the dock, phones and other USB-powered devices charge even when no computer is attached.
My devices stopped working after a power cut. What should I do?
The dock runs on AC power only and has to renegotiate power with the laptop after an outage. Disconnect and reconnect the AC adapter at the back of the dock. If the dock has no power, unplug the USB-C cable from the computer and the adapter, plug the adapter back in, and the dock LED blinks three times.
What if my displays don't detect, or flicker?
Use the cables that came in the box, check the monitor input, and keep resolutions within the table for your laptop. HDMI and the rear USB-C video port are muxed, so only one of them drives a display. For flicker, disconnect the cable from the laptop and remove the adapter, then reconnect the adapter before the laptop. Current BIOS, graphics and dock firmware fix most detection problems.

It is covered by the AnyHDD 1-year warranty from the date of delivery, against defects in materials and workmanship and hardware failures under normal use.
