The SureColor F170 is Epson's 8.5-inch desktop dye-sublimation printer. It prints Epson sublimation ink onto DS Multi Use transfer paper for mugs, shirts and other blanks, ready for your heat press.
Built for dye-sub from the printhead up.
A PrecisionCore Micro TFP printhead with 784 nozzles and Variable-Sized Droplet Technology lays down Epson's four-color sublimation ink at up to 1200 × 600 dpi. Epson pairs it with DS Multi Use transfer paper, which it says produces images on both soft and rigid materials.
Epson specifies its DS Multi Use paper; other papers may not develop color as expected, can show roller traces or rub off.

The F170 takes sheets from 3.5 to 8.5 inches wide and up to 47.2 inches long, with 3 mm margins left and right. Choose a size to see its printable width.
Printable width is the sheet width minus Epson's 3 mm (0.12 in) margin on each side. Epson notes print quality may decline in a band at the leading and trailing edges.
USB, Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
Connect over Hi-Speed USB, 10/100 Ethernet or 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, or print direct over Wi-Fi Direct. The ports sit at the right rear, as Epson's guide shows.

Questions we get asked.
What do I need besides the printer?
Epson DS Multi Use transfer paper, which Epson specifies for this printer, and a heat press to transfer the print onto your blank (not included). The printer, a full set of ink and the power cable are in the box.
Which ink does it use?
Epson T49M ink bottles (T49M1 black, T49M2 cyan, T49M3 magenta, T49M4 yellow), 140 mL each in the US. Epson's warranty does not cover damage from other inks.
How do I fill and charge the ink?
Fill each tank from its bottle: the bottle stops automatically at the upper line. Then press the start button to charge the ink; Epson says this takes about 14 minutes and the screen tells you when it is done.
Prints look faint or banded. What should I do?
Run Print Head Nozzle Check from the Maintenance menu and clean the head if lines are missing. If three check-and-clean cycles don't help, leave the printer for at least 12 hours without printing, check again, then run Power Cleaning.
Does it work over Wi-Fi?
Yes, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n) and Wi-Fi Direct, plus Hi-Speed USB and 10/100 Ethernet. Epson Connect email and remote printing are not supported.
How fast does it ship?

What warranty comes with it?
One year from the date of delivery. It may also be eligible for the original manufacturer's warranty, but AnyHDD's own 1-year coverage applies either way.
What if I need to return it?
If it fails in the first 30 days, you choose replacement or refund. There is no restocking fee, and refunds go back to your original payment method. If the item arrived defective, damaged, or isn't what you ordered, AnyHDD pays the return shipping; for any other reason the return label is yours to cover.
Is it new?
Yes. The SureColor F170 we sell is New, in Epson's sealed carton with Epson's ink, guide and power cable inside. We've supplied IT hardware to businesses since 2006.
