One combination cable feeds a workstation laptop up to 280 W, drives up to four displays, adds 2.5 GbE and eight USB ports, and lets IT manage it all from the cloud.
Workstation power, one cable.
The G6 runs from a 330 W adapter. Its combination cable carries Thunderbolt 4 and a 4.5 mm power barrel: up to 280 W reaches the laptop through the barrel, and up to 180 W through the Thunderbolt 4 connector alone, on HP and non-HP laptops that support USB Power Delivery 3.1.
Both USB-C ports give 15 W to a phone or headset, and all five USB-A ports charge.

Two DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, a USB-C video port and Thunderbolt 4. Choose how your laptop connects and how many screens you run.
Figures are HP's published video resolutions for the G6 and all require DisplayPort 1.4 with Display Stream Compression on the laptop; actual output depends on the laptop's graphics. "Multi-function" and "high-resolution" are the two ways a USB-C laptop can drive the dock. HP lists up to three external displays plus the laptop screen, or up to four external displays.

Thunderbolt 3 or 4 laptops, USB4, and USB-C laptops with DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery. The 280 W path needs a laptop with HP's 4.5 mm power barrel input.

HP Quick Connect, Wake on LAN from warm and cold dock and MAC address pass-through work on HP or HP-supported notebooks. Thunderbolt laptops need Thunderbolt software 17.x or later.

This one is new and sealed, so it skips the bench entirely. The dock stays in its sealed box; the cables and cloth in the bundle are packed alongside it.

Questions we get asked.
Which laptops get the full 280 W?
Laptops that take HP's 4.5 mm power barrel: the G6's combination cable delivers up to 280 W through the barrel. Over the Thunderbolt 4 connector alone, the dock delivers up to 180 W to HP and non-HP laptops that support USB Power Delivery 3.1. HP's QuickSpecs don't list which notebooks accept the barrel; check your laptop's HP spec sheet.
Will it work with my non-HP laptop?
Yes, over Thunderbolt 3 or 4, USB4, or USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery. HP tested select Dell, Lenovo and Apple systems. HP Quick Connect, Wake on LAN from warm and cold dock and MAC address pass-through only work on HP or HP-supported notebooks; the power button works on non-HP laptops that implement the USB PD Extended Alert messages.
Does it work with a Mac?
HP lists macOS Sonoma 14 among the supported systems. HP doesn't provide Ethernet and audio drivers for Mac, and the display figures above depend on what the Mac's port supports.
What do I need for four displays?
A Thunderbolt laptop with DisplayPort 1.4 and Display Stream Compression: HP lists four 4K UHD displays at 60 Hz. USB-C laptops without Thunderbolt top out at three displays (see the selector above).
What is HP Quick Connect?
A feature that wakes your laptop and accessories as you approach the desk, so the session is ready when you sit down. HP supports it on select HP G11 Intel and G12 Intel and AMD notebooks; it needs Bluetooth and is switched on in the laptop's BIOS and on the dock.
How fast does it ship?

What warranty comes with it?
One year from the date of delivery. It may also be eligible for the original manufacturer's warranty, but AnyHDD's own 1-year coverage applies either way.
What if I need to return it?
If it fails in the first 30 days, you choose replacement or refund. There is no restocking fee, and refunds go back to your original payment method. If the item arrived defective, damaged, or isn't what you ordered, AnyHDD pays the return shipping; for any other reason the return label is yours to cover.
