Stack up to 50 pages, press the blue Scan button, and the iX500 scans both sides at once, straightens and crops each page, drops the blank sides and hands you a PDF. It connects by USB or Wi-Fi, and scans straight to an iPhone, iPad or Android device with the ScanSnap app.
Receipts to legal pages, in one stack.
The feeder takes anything from a 2 × 2 inch receipt to a legal page, at 11 to 56 lb paper, and recognizes the size of each page by itself. Plastic cards up to 0.76 mm go through, embossed cards landscape only. Pages longer than A4 scan up to 34 inches.
Fujitsu’s separation-roller feeding, from its professional fi scanners, keeps jams and double feeds down, and an ultrasonic sensor catches the ones that happen. A Carrier Sheet handles A3, B4 and 11 × 17 in sheets and photographs.

Fujitsu rates the iX500 at 25 pages a minute in Auto, Normal, Better and Best modes, single- or double-sided. Pick a day’s volume.
Fujitsu’s 25 ppm applies to A4 portrait in Auto, Normal, Better and Best modes; Excellent mode (600 dpi color, computer connection only) runs at 7 ppm. Speed varies with the computer. Reloading the 50-sheet feeder adds time the arithmetic doesn’t include.

Questions we get asked.
Does it work with TWAIN or ISIS software?
No. Fujitsu’s datasheet says the iX500 doesn’t support TWAIN or ISIS; scanning runs through ScanSnap’s own software, which saves PDF or JPEG files. If your document-management or practice software scans through TWAIN, look at our Fujitsu fi-series scanners instead.
Does it work with a Mac?
Yes. Fujitsu’s ScanSnap software runs on both Windows and Mac, over USB or Wi-Fi.
Can I scan to my phone without a computer?
Yes. Over Wi-Fi the iX500 scans a PDF or JPEG straight to an iPhone, iPad or Android device with the ScanSnap app, and ScanSnap Cloud sends scans to a cloud service with no computer at all.
Can it make searchable PDFs?
Yes. ScanSnap creates searchable PDFs at nearly the speed of a standard PDF, and ABBYY FineReader for ScanSnap is in the bundled software list.
When do the rollers need replacing?
Fujitsu rates the iX500 Roller Set (PA03656-0001) for 200,000 sheets or one year, whichever comes first.
What condition will mine arrive in?
