One dock for USB-C and USB-A laptops.

Connect over USB-C, or over USB-A with a USB-C to USB-A converter, and the Hybrid dock adds up to two 4K displays through DisplayLink, Gigabit Ethernet and six USB ports. Over USB-C it also charges the laptop.

USB-C charges. USB-A connects.

Connected to a laptop's USB-C port, the dock powers the laptop from its 135 W ThinkPad slim-tip adapter; Lenovo's PSREF lists 90 W output. Connected through the included USB-C to USB-A converter to a USB 3.0 port, the displays, network and USB all work, but the dock does not charge the laptop.

The rear Always On USB-A port charges a phone at up to 2.4 A, and the front USB-C supplies 5 V / 3 A.

Up to two 4K displays.
Or one 5K.

Two DisplayPort and two HDMI, in two groups (DP 1 / HDMI 1 and DP 2 / HDMI 2): use one port from each group. Video runs through DisplayLink, so it works over USB-C or USB-A.

Why it needs a driver

The Hybrid dock is a DisplayLink dock: its monitors are driven by the DisplayLink driver on the laptop and sent over USB. That is how it runs displays from a USB-A port. The driver is preinstalled on supported ThinkPads; otherwise it comes from lenovo.com/support/docks.

What it doesn't do

No HDCP, so protected video won't play on monitors connected to the dock (connect that display to the laptop). No daisy chaining and no interlaced modes such as 1080i.

Wired where it counts.

Gigabit Ethernet gives a laptop that lives on Wi-Fi a steady connection at the desk, and on supported computers the dock passes through the network tools IT already uses.

  • Gigabit Ethernet10/100/1000 Mbps on RJ45.
  • PXE bootStart a supported computer from the network through the dock.
  • Wake-on-LANWake on LAN and Wake on LAN from Dock; waking from hibernation or off needs the USB-C connection.
  • MAC address pass-throughThe laptop keeps its own MAC address through the dock on supported computers.

One dock for a mixed fleet.

USB-C and USB-A laptops, Lenovo or not, share the same desk setup.

USB-C or USB-A

Through a USB-C to USB-A converter, older USB 3.0 laptops dock too (without charging). The converter is in the box.

Tested beyond ThinkPad

Lenovo lists HP Elite and Pro, Dell Latitude and XPS, and Apple MacBook Air and Pro (M1/M2) models as tested.

PXE, Wake-on-LAN, MAC pass-through

Network boot, wake and MAC pass-through on supported computers.

Always On charging

The rear Always On USB-A port charges a phone at up to 2.4 A whenever the dock has power.

Works with USB-C and USB-A laptops.

Lenovo lists USB-C, USB4, Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4 and USB-A laptops on Windows, macOS, Ubuntu and ChromeOS.

What the laptop needs

A full-function USB-C port, or a USB 3.0 port through the included USB-A converter. Charging needs USB-C.

What you need to install

The DisplayLink-based dock driver: preinstalled on select ThinkPads, otherwise from lenovo.com/support/docks. MAC pass-through, Wake-on-LAN and the mirrored power button may not work on non-Lenovo laptops.

Questions we get asked.

Will it work with my Mac or non-Lenovo laptop?

Lenovo lists Windows 10 and 11, macOS 13 and 14, Ubuntu 22.04 and ChromeOS, and names HP Elite and Pro, Dell Latitude and XPS, and Apple MacBook Air and Pro (M1/M2) models as tested. Install the DisplayLink-based dock driver first. MAC address pass-through, Wake-on-LAN and the mirrored power button may not work on other brands.

Does it charge my laptop?

Over USB-C, yes: Lenovo's PSREF lists 90 W output from the 135 W adapter. Through the included USB-C to USB-A converter on a USB 3.0 port, the dock works but does not charge the laptop.

How many monitors can I run?

Up to two: one at up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz, or two at up to 3840 × 2160 at 60 Hz. The ports come in two groups (DP 1 / HDMI 1 and DP 2 / HDMI 2) and only one port per group works at a time. With both DisplayPorts connected to one 5K monitor, it can run 5120 × 2880 at 60 Hz.

Why won't a streaming service play on the docked monitor?

The dock does not support HDCP, so protected video can't play on displays connected to it. Connect that monitor directly to the laptop.

My wireless mouse lags, or the keyboard won't wake the laptop.

Plug the 2.4 GHz receiver into a rear USB 2.0 port, as Lenovo recommends, and keep the keyboard and mouse off the Always On port if you want them to wake the computer.

How fast does it ship?

Every order ships with tracking. Delivery options and timing are shown at checkout.

What warranty comes with it?

One year from the date of delivery. It may also be eligible for the original manufacturer's warranty, but AnyHDD's own 1-year coverage applies either way.One year from the date of delivery, covered by AnyHDD.

What if I need to return it?

If it fails in the first 30 days, you choose replacement or refund. There is no restocking fee, and refunds go back to your original payment method. If the item arrived defective, damaged, or isn't what you ordered, AnyHDD pays the return shipping; for any other reason the return label is yours to cover.

Is anything left on the Hybrid USB-C with USB-A Dock from a previous owner?

No. Renewed units go through firmware and reset before they are listed: settings returned to factory defaults, and any stored settings cleared. We've supplied IT hardware to businesses since 2006.
