What's in the box.

Labels in 1.2 seconds. No ink, ever.
The ZP450 is Zebra's direct thermal desktop printer built for UPS shipping. It prints 4 × 6 labels at up to 5 inches per second and 203 dpi, over a plain USB connection.

Heat is the ink.
The ZP450 prints direct thermal only: the printhead darkens heat-sensitive labels, so there is no ribbon, ink or toner to buy.
Not sure about a roll? Zebra's test: press a fingernail firmly and drag it quickly across the label. If it leaves a dark mark, it's direct thermal stock and ready to print.

Pick a label.
See how fast it prints.
The ZP450's standard label is the 4 × 6 shipping label. Choose a size to see it leave the printer, and how long it takes at full speed.
Times are the label length divided by the maximum 5 in/s. Dot counts are the label length multiplied by 203 dots per inch, rounded down. Labels are drawn to one scale.
One USB cable. That’s the setup.
The ZP450 connects over USB 2.0, and Windows detects it as soon as it's plugged in. Power comes from the power base the printer sits on.

Takes the labels you already buy.
Direct thermal labels load as a roll inside the printer or as fan-fold stock through the slot at the rear. The standard size is the 4 × 6 shipping label, and a 4 × 6 roll comes in the box.

Made for UPS shipping.
Zebra built the ZP450 as a custom printer for UPS shipping applications, running ZPL II. UPS provides its software and driver support.
Made for UPS
Zebra designed and sold the ZP450 for UPS shipping applications, and UPS provides its software and driver support.
ZPL II
Print width, darkness and print speed are ZPL II settings, so shipping software can set them for you.
Setup from one button
Hold Feed and count the green flashes: one prints a configuration label, two calibrates, four restores factory defaults, five sets print width, six sets darkness.
Keep the ZP firmware
ZP printers run special firmware. Zebra advises against loading any firmware not recommended for your ZP model.
Works with the computer you have.
Windows detects the ZP450 over USB as soon as it's connected. Zebra directs software and driver questions for this printer to UPS.
A free USB port. Zebra asks for a fully shielded USB 2.0 cable, kept short (6 ft recommended).
Ink, toner or ribbons.
Renewed, the way we do it.
Every renewed ZP450 goes through the same five stations before it's listed. If it doesn't pass, it doesn't ship.
Intake and identification
Model, part number and serial logged, and the configuration label printed to record the printer's settings.
Full functional test
Configuration label and test labels printed, printhead checked for missing dots, media sensors calibrated from the Feed button.
Factory reset
ZP firmware left as shipped, as Zebra advises. Settings returned to factory defaults from the Feed button.
Clean and grade
Printhead, platen and media path cleaned, exterior wiped, cosmetic grade recorded.

Questions we get asked.
Does it print 4 × 6 shipping labels?
Yes. The 4 × 6 shipping label is its standard size, on direct thermal rolls or fan-fold stock. At up to 5 inches per second, a 4 × 6 label takes about 1.2 seconds.
Where do I get drivers and software?
Zebra built the ZP450 for UPS shipping applications, and UPS provides its software and driver support. Windows detects the printer over USB as soon as it's connected. Zebra's own support covers printing a Windows test page, calibration and hardware issues.
Can I update its firmware?
Not with standard Zebra firmware. Zebra says ZP printers run special firmware and advises against sending any firmware that isn't recommended for your ZP model; older ZP450 units were damaged that way.
How do I calibrate a new roll?
Load the media and turn the printer on. Hold the Feed button until the green status light flashes once, then twice, and release. The printer sets its media sensor, feeds to the next label and prints a sensor profile.
What do the status-light colors mean?
Solid green: on and ready. Flashing green: receiving data. Double-flashing green: paused, press Feed. Flashing red: out of media or the printhead is open; load media or close the cover, then press Feed. Flashing amber: a failed self test, a memory shortage or a printhead that needs to cool.
How fast does it ship?
Every order ships with tracking. Delivery options and timing are shown at checkout.
What warranty comes with it?
One year on everything, regardless of grade, from the date of delivery.
What if I need to return it?
If it fails in the first 30 days, you choose replacement or refund. There is no restocking fee, and refunds go back to your original payment method. If the item arrived defective, damaged, or isn't what you ordered, AnyHDD pays the return shipping; for any other reason the return label is yours to cover.
Does it keep anything from a previous owner?
Renewed units are reset to factory defaults before they ship, which returns its settings to Zebra's defaults. We've supplied IT hardware to businesses since 2006.
Has this ZP450 been used?
No. New units arrive in the sealed manufacturer carton, never opened. We've supplied IT hardware to businesses since 2006.
